Public Art

Assistant Professor Dee Hibbert-Jones

Public Art I and II are taught in the Art Department as undergraduate studio art electives by Assistant Professor Dee Hibbert-Jones, and visiting faculty. Art students and students in other UC departments (with faculty approval) are invited to join Public Art I (lower division) and Public Art II (upper division) to learn more about proposing, designing and creating art in public places.

These classes explore public art in its many manifestations; from site specific projects, contemporary memorials, political actions, projects that work with communities, environmental, temporary, ephemeral and permanent projects. Please see details under the public art 1 and 2 links above.
