Professional Master's in Occupational Safety and Health
Georgia Tech's Professional Master's in Occupational Safety and Health (PMOSH) is identified as a Qualified Academic Program (QAP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). PMOSH is structured for working professionals with one year of industry experience. The flexible, innovative curriculum allows you to learn while you stay in your current job. Taught by distinguished faculty from academia and industry, you acquire knowledge that you can immediately apply at work.

- Take advantage of BCSP benefits and receive the designation as Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP).
- Create first-rate action plans.
- Solve real-world problems through hands-on exercises, case studies, and labs.
- Analyze safety and health investment strategies and the cost/benefits of the program.
Program highlights include:
- A graduate degree in two years.
- Focus on one course at a time by taking two half-semester courses each fall and spring.
- The hybrid format that blends face-to-face instruction and 24/7 online learning.
- Live online sessions with faculty twice during each course.
- A team-based, hands-on capstone project where you receive input from, and collaborate with, an industry sponsor.
- Visit the Atlanta campus three times over two years and meet with your cohort to network, collaborate, and build community. You will also tour a well-known company to experience an established OSH program up close.

To earn the PMOSH degree, students must complete ten courses.

APPLICATIONS
Admission to the Professional Master’s in Occupational Safety and Health (PMOSH) program is based on an applicant’s professional experience, prior education, and competencies. Please be sure to fulfill the following requirements and gather the items below before beginning the application process:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited school with a competitive GPA of at least 3.0.
- Proof of English Proficiency (i.e., TOEFL). Exempted if degree was earned from a university where English is the language of instruction.
- At least one year of professional work experience (post-Bachelor’s degree) in a safety and health general industry or construction related fields.
- Three letters of recommendation. Letters should come from past and current supervisors, outlining your skills and capabilities, and describing why you should be considered for admission.
- A required essay/statement of purpose (no more than one page). The essay/statement of purpose should include:
- Why you should be considered?
- What experience you can bring to the program?
- What you expect to take away from the program to enhance your professional career?
- A resume including work and educational experience.
- An official transcript sent from each accredited school in which you received a degree.
