The Diploma of Business Fast Track can get you guaranteed* entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Wollongong (UOW).

In the Diploma of Business Fast Track you will address these fundamental questions and gain the skills to be better prepared to succeed at your UOW bachelor. You’ll explore various disciplines, including marketing, accounting, management and finance and graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.

Recent Secondary Education Admission Criteria These criteria may be used to gain admission to this course for students who are currently in year 12 or have recently completed their secondary education.

Recent secondary education students can gain admission to this course via non-ATAR or ATAR-based options.

NON-ATAR ADMISSION OPTIONS With these options students may be admitted on the basis of criteria other than ATAR.

Non-ATAR admissions at UOW take an individual approach to understanding potential for academic success. Each student is assessed based on key qualities across academic readiness, motivation & passion, planning & persistence, and communication & collaboration.

ATAR-BASED ADMISSION OPTIONS With these options, students may be admitted on the basis of ATAR or ATAR plus additional criteria (e.g. an audition or individual subject results).

Guaranteed entry selection ranks

The minimum score for guaranteed entry is an ATAR Selection Rank of 45.

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION & TRAINING Students who have undertaken vocational education or training since leaving school.

HIGHER EDUCATION STUDY Students who have studied a University course, or completed a bridging or enabling course.

WORK & LIFE EXPERIENCE Students admitted on the basis of previous achievement other than higher education study, vocational education & training, or recent secondary education.

CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING

You may be entitled to credit for prior learning, whether formal or informal. Formal learning can include previous study in higher education, vocational education, or adult and community education. Informal learning can include on the job learning or various kinds of work and life experience. Credit can reduce the amount of study needed to complete this qualification. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum ATAR 45 equivalent (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) or interstate or overseas equivalent; OR
  • Minimum 4 HSC Subjects ≥ 70% (or equivalent); OR
  • Minimum 3 HSC Subjects ≥ 75% (or equivalent).

ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS

To gain entry into the Diploma of Business (2 Session) you also need to meet the following requirements:

IELTS Academic 6.0 (min 5.5 in Reading and Writing) or equivalent completed in the last two years; or
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS COMPLETED IN ENGLISH: Applicants may be considered as meeting the English language requirement if successfully completing two (2) years of secondary or tertiary study at an approved institution where:

  • the language of instruction was English; and
  • the institution is located in a country where the official language is English.

Academic transcripts and an official letter from the institution certifying that English was the sole language of instruction and assessment must be provided. Previous study in English is considered on a case-by-case basis and does not automatically meet UOW's English language requirement.

The following citizenships may be considered for an English language waiver under the above guideline: Bahamas, Barbados, Canada, Fiji, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, UK, USA.
