About the Program

M.S. Program:

The Master of Science in Biostatistics will provide integrated training in computational, quantitative, and biomedical sciences to support health-related research performed in academia, government and industry. Students will not only acquire quantitative and computational tools that underpin epidemiology and bioinformatics, but also gain substantive exposure to applications of these tools to biological and health sciences.

Ph.D. Program:

The Ph.D. in Biostatistics integrates biostatistics with world-class biomedical research at Georgetown University. The goal of the program is to train outstanding Biostatisticians who will advance the field of Biostatistics. The program prepares students for research and teaching careers in academia and for research and development careers in industry and government. The program also emphasizes quantitative skills, biomedical research relevance, and communication skills.

Students will acquire powerful modern statistical methods and computational tool as well as being educated in cognate areas of biological and health sciences such as genetics, epidemiology and biology. They will be trained through collaborative mentored biomedical research projects, interdisciplinary seminars, and seminars on biostatistics topics in biomedical research. The program prepares students for research and teaching careers in academia and for research and technical careers in industry and government.
