Program details

The Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences offer a two-year Master of Science in Human Anatomy and Cell Science degree, advancing research and education in the anatomical and biomedical sciences.

Expected duration: 2 years

Tuition and fees: Program fees are assessed in the first two terms of study, followed by a continuing fee in the third and any subsequent terms. (refer to Graduate tuition and fees)

In addition to the minimum course requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, found in the Graduate Studies Regulations Section, students must complete:

  • Biomedical Training Skills (IMED 7410)
  • Six credit hours of approved courses at the 7000 level
  • A master's thesis

Admission requirements

The following are minimum requirements to be considered for entry into the Human Anatomy and Cell Sciences MSc program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

To be considered for admission to the Human Anatomy and Cell Science MSc program, you must have a minimum of a four-year bachelor of science degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Graduates of medicine or dentistry holding MD, DMD, DDS or equivalent degrees may also be considered.

In addition to the admission requirements described here, all applicants must meet the minimum admission and English language proficiency requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

How to apply

The MSc in Human Anatomy and Cell Science program accepts applications for Fall, Winter and Summer entry. Applications must be completed online and include several parts:

  • $100 application fee (non-refundable)
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts and degree certificates
  • Confirmation letter of financial support from advisor/supervisor
  • Two letters of recommendation (must be requested from within the application)
  • Proof of English language proficiency, if required
