Program Description	Pre-Social Work (Pre-SW) is a 30 credit hour, 1-year program designed to prepare students to apply for admission to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program. Therefore, students wishing to pursue the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of Regina should first enroll in Pre-SW. After completing Pre-SW, upon gaining admission to the BSW, students will have already completed 30 credit hours toward the 120 credit hour degree; therefore, they would have just 90 credit hours remaining in the BSW. Sample Courses: Issues in Gender Relations, Social Work Practice and Human Sexuality, Issues Relating to Violence and Abuse, Anti-Oppressive Social Work Practice, Unemployment and Social Work. Career Opportunities: As generalist social workers, our graduates are prepared to pursue careers in addictions and mental health counseling, child welfare, social welfare, policy analysis, program administration, mediation, corrections/probation, advocacy as well as medical, school and clinical social work.
