Profile of the Programme:
The graduates acquire university qualifications in the third degree of education in the sphere of scientific problems concerning the procurement, treatment, transformation, transport, accumulation, distribution and consumption of various forms of energy based on using and utilizing fossil fuels and renewable forms of energy. In their theses they solve a scientific problem, with a corresponding scientific contribution, in the area of a wide spectrum of energetics (thermal power engineering, hydro power engineering, pumping technology, nuclear power engineering, metallurgy power engineering, VHAC (ventilation, heating, air conditioning), compressed air technology, heating systems, gas systems, combustion turbines, cogeneration devices, combustion engines, steam turbines, heating plants, electric power plants, non-traditional energy sources, heat pumps, refrigerating technology, energy economy, design, control).
Key Learning Outcomes:
The graduates acquire qualifications in the sphere of scientific problems concerning the procurement, treatment, transformation, transport, accumulation, distribution and consumption of various forms of energy based on using and utilizing fossil fuels and renewable forms of energy. Solving a scientific problems with corresponding scientific contribution in the area of a wide spectrum of energetics.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples:
The acquired academic knowledge, experience with scientific and publishing work, as well as the pedagogical experience of our alumni enable them to find employment in the scientific development of mechanical engineering, in the industrial field, or to continue in the scientific and pedagogical career at universities specializing in engineering in Slovakia or abroad. The diversity of our alumni profile guarantees the ease with which they can find employment in the fields of production, technology, as well as in the related field of information technology.
Access to Further Studies:
Self-study as a scientific research worker.
Course structure diagram with credits (60 per full-time academic year):
STU runs bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes that can be realized individually at one or more faculties, possibly at more faculties as an interfaculty study. Fulfilment of the requirements of studies in a programme (henceforth ”studies”) is recorded through a credit system based on the principles of the European Credit Transfer System (henceforth ”ECTS”).
