Accounting

Accomplished accountants have the ability to collect complex financial data, analyze that information and communicate it to others. Transylvania’s broad-based accounting curriculum will prepare you for these challenging duties.

Students take field trips to local businesses to meet with managers and discuss their operations and accounting procedures. They also have the opportunity to assist professors with research, participate in community service and land internships with area businesses and accounting firms.

Our accounting graduates can sit for the CPA exam without having to earn a graduate degree. Although the current regulations of the accounting profession require 150 college semester hours, Transylvania’s unique program entitles our graduates to sit for the exam upon completion of their undergraduate degree.

Our graduates also have a strong advantage when applying to graduate schools, thanks to our faculty members’ strong ties with top graduate programs across the country, our program’s reputation and our graduates’ success in graduate school and with the CPA exam.
