Entry qualification

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) • a university Bachelor’s degree(min. length – 180 ECTS) in Engineering, Physical, Technology, Life, Health, Veterinary or Agricultural study field degree; ≥18 ECTS completed in the Chemistry study field subjects with a good average grade (min. CGPA>60%), • motivation (online), • proficiency in English: IELTS ≥6.0, TOEFL ≥85, CEFR ≥C1, IESOL C1, GRE, PTE or another equivalent standardised admission test. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian / Russian. The documents must be legalised (Apostille)by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the documents were issued. This requirement does not apply for the documents issued in the EU and Belarus, Ukraine. You must take verified copies of the entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university. Language requirements

English Accepted proof of proficiency: Cambridge English, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, PTE or another equivalent standardised admission test. If your previous studies have been fully in English and it is marked on your degree certificate or transcript, or noted in a confirmation from the school which confirms that your studies have been fully in English language, additional English test may not be required. If an applicant does not have any official test, online examination may be organised by KTU.

Overview

Chemistry is essential to our modern lives. The industrial applications of fundamental chemistry knowledge directly affect us daily – what we eat, what we wear, our transport, the technology we use, how we treat illnesses and how we get electricity – to name just a few.

The design of new sustainable materials and chemical products requires an understanding of the synthesis and physical/chemical properties of substances, as well as the relationship between the structure and the properties. While studying MSc Applied Chemistry at KTU, you will develop competence to analyse state-of-the-art products and innovative technologies, work with contemporary equipment.

During your studies, you will expand your understanding of the complex instrumental analysis processes and will learn to assess the value of new technologies. Your deep knowledge in chemistry and instrumental analysis together with research skills will equip you with an ability to form and solve both fundamental and industry challenges in the field.
