Programme Overview

Managers and employers with robust financial skills are key to the success of any business. This business with accounting and finance degree will focus on personal and management skills as well as management accounting and contemporary business processes.

This degree features valuable dual accreditation from two globally recognised leaders in the field, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). These accreditations allow you exemptions in becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant, and provide additional career networking resources at no additional cost.

Syllabus content

During your studies you’ll gain a wider understanding of accounting and finance functions, operations, and technologies. You’ll also develop new personal and professionals attributes in dedicated skills-related modules to help build your soft skills and decision-making abilities. Learning research and data analysis techniques using academic and industry focused texts, articles, and reports, you’ll gain a better understanding of contemporary accounting and finance, management, and overall business functions, with the ability to analyse practical case studies drawn from a range of international organisations.

Using our business simulation software, you will be able to own a virtual business and run it as your own enterprise – managing marketing, sales, finances, people, product development, operations, and your supply chain. You’ll learn modern research and data analysis technique used across industries, and gain real world knowledge from case studies and industry leading guest lecturers.

Dual Accredited by ACCA and CIMA

Our BA (Hons) Business Management (Accounting and Finance) has been awarded five ACCA exemptions. This means that students who go on to study ACCA after graduation will start their studies at the appropriate level, studying only nine ACCA papers out of the standard 14 that make up the ACCA qualification.

It is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) provides continuing professional development services, funds academic research, develops thought leadership, and monitors professional standards in the accountancy sector.

Entry Requirements

  • Two subjects at GCE A-Level or equivalent, plus passes at grade C or above in three subjects at GCSE level or equivalent.
  • For students whose prior learning was not taught in English, you must have IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (no less than 5.5 in any element).
