Master of Laws Program (LLM)

For most foreign-trained lawyers, it makes sense to start their legal studies in the United States by completing an LLM degree. Iowa Law has long offered a Master of Laws (LLM) Program. Consider how the Iowa LLM might meet your needs.

Students in the College of Law's LLM Program apply to, and receive their degree from the College of Law.

Admission Requirements

U.S. law school graduates who apply for this degree must have a JD from a law school that is a member of the Association of American Law Schools or approved by the American Bar Association. Foreign-trained lawyers must have training equivalent to the U.S. JD degree.
