Students who wish to spend more time exploring their interests may apply and be admitted to the School of Business and Management without a major. They will be able to apply to Information Systems during the Major Selection Exercise at the end of the first two or three semesters.

Description

The BBA in Information Systems (IS) program trains students to become technically proficient business professionals with the ability to design, implement, analyze and audit information systems to help businesses survive and thrive in today’s data-centric world. 

Our curriculum explores basic concepts to complex theories, and covers diverse applications of information systems to businesses. IS students are required to take a combination of business foundation courses and technology management courses (e.g. Innovation Management, Business Analytics) to gain in-depth knowledge and generate well-informed insights. 
 

Two options are available to IS students to suit their particular academic interests and career plans: 

  • Business Analytics

This option focuses on developing new insights into for a new understanding of business performance by investigating past business data and using them to drive business planning and decision making. 

  • IS Auditing

This option focuses on the profession of IS auditing, which helps client organizations examine management controls within an information technology infrastructure.

Extended Major
IS students may apply for the extended major in Artificial Intelligence or Digital Media and Creative Arts at the end of the 3rd term of study, if they satisfy the extended major requirement. Students completing the extended major will graduate with a title bearing both the traditional major subject they selected and the extended major. For more details, refer to “Business with an Extended Major in AI / DMCA.

IS graduates are in high demand in established corporates and start-up companies in both public and private sectors. Every year, 85-90% of IS graduates obtained their first job offer before graduation.  They went on to become business analysts, data/systems analysts, innovation supervisors/facilitators, IS auditors and control officers, IT consultants/advisors, and technology entrepreneurs.
