MFA

3-Year Program

The MFA Lighting Design curriculum centers on developing critical and practical skills with coursework that includes lessons in immersive lighting design, AutoCAD, digital rendering, Vectorworks, and strategies for live performance across a wide variety of creative arenas. Students are taught how to understand the physiological and psychological effects of light in addition to other scientific principles of phenomenology.

All coursework is designed to help each student find a distinct, original, and personal voice, defining their unique aesthetic, as evidenced in production work and an outstanding portfolio.

All MFA Lighting Design students are required to pass a Mid-Residence and Graduation Review in order to complete the Program and obtain their degree.
