About us

Everyone is welcome at International House Torquay – our aim is to ensure that everyone who joins an IH Torquay course gets the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their stay with us.

We are proud to say that many of our students and business clients have returned to the school time after time and have recommended us to their family, friends and colleagues. We are now welcoming students from the third generation of some families.

The school is located just a few minutes on foot from Torquay town centre and is surrounded by large gardens and a volley ball court. Our partner hotel, Ferndale Lodge, is opposite the school.

Our courses

We offer a flexible General English course with a choice of hours per week, Courses for the Over 30s and Over 50s and a choice of Business and Professional English courses.

Our Family Courses run all year round and allow parents with children from 6 to 15 to study with us, safe in the knowledge that their children are being taught and cared for at the same time as they are studying. This can be arranged for the mornings only so that parents can collect their child(ren) and spend the afternoon together. Should the parents wish to attend classes in the afternoon or if they have other plans, we can offer an activities package for the children in the afternoons.

Our Young Learners Academy caters for students aged 14 to 17. We place great emphasis on the fact that the students are well supervised in a safe and secure environment.
