Bachelor of Arts Economics (PDF)
The B.A. in Economics is offered primarily as a degree in the liberal arts and provides students with valuable preparation for a variety of career paths. Students may design their programs of study for immediate entry upon graduation into business, government, or numerous other fields; for graduate education leading to a business administration, law, or other professional degree; or for graduate work in economics or related disciplines.
This program is also offered 100% online.
Bachelor of Science in Economics (PDF)
The B.S. in Economics focuses on training students in economic analysis and the functioning of economic institutions through an emphasis on analytical and mathematical techniques. Program core emphasizes public economics policy from which students can branch into six concentrations. The goals of the program are to train students to think analytically and critically about social, environmental and business economic issues. Students gain a solid foundation in social science not only for further study and careers in economics, but also for careers in law, public service, business, and related fields.
Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics (PDF)
The B.A. in Financial Economics provides a curriculum that prepares students for careers in financial services industry. The program provides exposure to economic theory at the undergraduate level and to economics and finance courses that are traditionally offered separately in economics and business degree programs. The program focuses on analytical skills and workforce readiness working in financial planning, financial administration, banking, or other employment. The curriculum for the program is designed for flexibility and allows for students to double-major.
Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics (PDF)
The B.S. in Financial Economics provides a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for careers in quantitative financial economics. The program provides exposure to economic theory at the advanced undergraduate level and to economics and finance courses that are traditionally offered separately in economics and business degree programs. The program focuses on analytical skills, with a calculus requirement more rigorous than that required for either economics or business, and with a requirement that the student take an upper-level course in economic statistics or econometrics. The curriculum for the program is distinctly different from the existing curricula in economics and business.
Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs-Economics (PDF)
The International Affairs degree, with a concentration in Economics is designed for students who wish to pursue a career, or further graduate study, in international economics and policy.
Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Environmental Science – Sustainability (PDF)
The B.S. in Ecology and Environmental Science (EES) is designed for students who wish to pursue an interdisciplinary environmental policy and management program. Students advised by faculty members in the School of Economics often choose the Sustainability concentration for their area of study.
4+1 Undergraduate-to-Graduate Program (Application)
The 4 + 1 program will recruit many of our best SOE undergraduate students into the SOE graduate program, while saving them time and money. Juniors accepted into the highly competitive program will start taking graduate courses during their junior and senior years, and be able to count those courses for both their undergrad and grad degrees. The 4 + 1 effectively halves the time it takes the student to earn the master’s degree.
