Programme Overview

If you have an inquisitive mind and want to develop a scientific understanding of the human mind, brain, behaviour, and experience, but don’t yet have the qualifications needed to enter directly into university level studies, then this is the perfect degree for you. The foundation year will provide you with the academic support and guidance you need to move into your BSc (Hons) Psychology degree.

Syllabus content

This degree with foundation year is ideal for anyone who may need extra academic or digital skills support to ensure successful university study. Our expert team will help make sure you are ready for every aspect of your studies, and after your first year of preparation you will move on to study your full bachelor’s degree, featuring specialised elective modules for you to tailor your degree.

Your studies will culminate with choosing an area of psychology on which to focus and produce your own research project at the end of your final year. By the time you graduate, you’ll have the confidence and ability to apply your knowledge of psychology to a range of exciting career paths and further learning opportunities.

Accreditation

This degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which means that graduates obtaining at least a lower second class honours degree will be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the BPS – the basic requirement to train as a professional psychologist.
