Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management

The graduate program in Business Management is designed to prepare students for leadership positions in business firms, institutions, small businesses, and other organizations. It provides a well-rounded education in business operations, preparing individuals for a variety of management and leadership positions in business, government, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Organizations require competent managers to plan, organize, lead, and control their activities. Organizations need individuals who can manage resources, identify and solve problems, work with others, understand markets and advertising, collect and analyze data, and achieve desired organizational outcomes.  

LU's Business Management program is designed to prepare graduates for a variety of professional management opportunities. It provides a well-rounded, big-picture" perspective of what goes on in today's business environments. The program's interactive, technology-based learning processes produce business professionals who are employed by a wide range of progressive organizations. LU's distinct balance of theory and hands-on application includes an applied internship elective that can also serve as a career connection. The program provides a solid foundation for students seeking careers in the management, accounting, marketing, and public administration professions.

Each of Lincoln's academic programs is made up of a set of core curriculum, program requirements and electives. The courses listed below are just a small sample of courses that might be taken as a part of this specific program.

Managerial Accounting This course emphasizes the conceptual basis as it relates to creation of value for the firm.
International Business An introduction to international business; examines business activities through the study of social, cultural, economic and political systems of home and host countries.
Business Strategy A study of selected critical managerial problems of coordinating the basic fundamental areas of a business enterprise. Cases and simulation are utilized. This is a capstone course and will be taken in the final semester only.
Managerial Economics A study of microeconomic analysis and its application to business decision making, optimal output and pricing under various structures, consumer demand, production costs and strategic pricing. Optimal allocation of resources.
Corporate Finance A study of financial theory and decision models as applied to financial analysis, planning and control. Also, valuation and financial structures are studied for managerial decision-making purposes.

General Graduate Requirements

Admission is open to all undergraduate majors. Applicants to the MBA program may enroll in up to nine hours of graduate courses during their last semester of undergraduate studies if attending Lincoln University.

All applicants must complete 18 credit hours of undergraduate preparatory courses or their approved equivalents with a "C" or better in each course:

  • ACC 246 Principles of Accounting I
  • ACC 247 Principles of Accounting II 
  • BAD 310 Principles of Management 
  • BAD 275 Business Law I
  • ECO 202 Microeconomics 
  • MKT 321 Principles of Marketing
