Overview

Would you like to get to grips with the fundamentals of project management, develop skills in the essentials of project management techniques and strengthen your career prospects?  If so this is the course for you . . .

The aim of the course is to prepare our recent graduates with employment and/or further professional development by helping learners develop the capacity for self-direction, supporting transformational learning, and promoting emancipatory learning and social action.

The course will provide you with a good understanding of the complexities of modern business, and provide you with the skills to manage resources effectively despite time and cost constraints. In addition you will develop your interpersonal skills and will obtain knowledge on key topics such as the development of:

  • Rigorous business project management skills to engender practical engagement of Project Management Body of Knowledge (BoK) skills in work experience and employment;
  • BoK (project management) approaches with orthodox methods to control cost, timescale, quality, scope, risk and benefits in work experience;
  • The application of lifelong learning project management skills in working practices;
  • A critical understanding of key performance methodologies for project management;

In the current competitive job environment, there is a great deal of value to be gained by strengthening ones knowledge and experience, and Project Management is an area in great demand.

Free to all 2020/21 London South Bank University Graduates (from any discipline), special features of the course include:

Business Project Management

A skills based continuous professional development (CPD) module with business project management themes, covering the Project Management Body of Knowledge (BoK) concepts. Linking project management with its dual focus on competencies and capabilities to move learners a step closer towards better addressing the needs of employees through complex and critical changing work environments, with project utilization. Thus bridging numerous employability skills.

Project Management Practice

The module aims to enhance students' understanding of business project undertakings, organisational structures and working practices through,one-­­to-­­one consultations and the practice work itself. Undertaking practice either in a place of work or within the university. Contributing to a business project under the contact/supervision of an academic project supervisor.

Careers

Project management skills are directly transferable to a wide range of industries and will equip students for employment in a range of positions. Graduates who demonstrate their commitment to and knowledge of the field are often sought out for a number of roles within a business.

Our PG Cert LLL in Project Management is therefore an ideal way to showcase your CV and position you to work in roles related to project management.  This could include positions with SMEs, finance, marketing, sales etc., as well as working alongside project management professionals.
