Major Requirements

The Theater and Dance major consists of 36 credits. With prior approval, one transfer course or one study abroad course may be used toward the major.

One Introductory course from the following:

THDA 105 - Seeing Performance in the Twin Cities, or
THDA 112 - Reading Plays

Additional courses:​

THDA 221 - Dance Composition
THDA 235 - Fundamentals of Scenography
THDA 345 - Performance Histories and Theories
THDA 350 - Directing for the Stage
THDA 490 - Senior Seminar

Production Practice:

THDA 80 - Performance Practice
THDA 81 - Technical Practice

Electives:

Twelve (12) credit of elective courses (in acting, dance improvisation, dance technique, design, playwriting, scholarship, technologies, and so forth) offered by the Theater and Dance Department. Topic courses may be considered towards the major.
