Economics majors start their PC studies with a strong liberal arts foundation before tackling their first economics courses.

The economics major requires at total of 38 hours, and focuses on core economic theory with opportunities for electives in such subjects as environmental economics, international economy and entrepreneurship, and how government policy impacts the economy.

Students are required to take the senior capstone course, which requires in-depth reading in economics and a faculty-supervised research project.

The major is a good preparation for a professional career, graduate school, or entrepreneurial endeavors.
