There are three key events in the life of a film: the script, the shoot and the edit. Editing is where it all comes together; where meaning is created through cutting sound and picture. This is the decisive moment when a screen story can finally be told.

While editing is at the heart of this film editing and post production course in London, you will develop a diverse skillset across the post production spectrum. You will build skills in visual effects, colour grading, audio post, screen graphics, shoot and edit and broadcast technology.

You’ll be guided by industry practitioners and guest speakers using a mix of problem-based learning, practical workshops, lectures and masterclasses. Previous guest speakers to the course have included Mick Audsley (Murder on the Orient Express), Paul Machliss (Baby Driver), and Lisa Gunning (7 Psychopaths).

Over the years, the course has built strong and lasting links with high profile post companies including Avid, Adobe, Apple, Black Magic, Jigsaw24, as well as numerous post houses and production companies.

You will also gain skills in post-production technology and media management, which will provide the technical backbone of your craft.

Throughout your learning journey, you will have access to high quality, professionally shot rushes across all genres from factual to drama, and from promos to news packages. You will take on live commissions and collaborate with students across other courses.

The location of Ravensbourne on the Greenwich Peninsula is also an important geographical factor, as it sits very close to one of the biggest post-production hubs in the world. This proximity offers you world-class opportunities for work placements and employment.

Armed with a full toolbox of skills, past graduates have found roles with media powerhouses like the BBC, ITV and Disney, while others have worked in post-production houses editing renowned movies such as Star Wars and Thor.
