As a Siena actuarial science major, you can expect a combination of courses and real-world experiences that prepare you for professional actuarial exams and build the skills employers want: ability to communicate technical information, problem-solving, teamwork, constructing well-reasoned arguments and working with complex data.

You'll also have a  dedicated advisor who will help you plan for professional exams, choose the right course work and make sure you're sought-after in the job market. One of the best things about Siena's program is the year-long professional seminar series, where you'll hear from practicing actuaries about their careers and what you can expect for yours.

"I was taught so much more than  the SKILLS NEEDED TO PASS exams REQUIRED TO become an accredited actuary. It is because of MY well-rounded education that I was able to have a successful career and build a business that’s flourished for 30 years."

Ed Holohan '68, Siena's first accredited actuary and current President & Actuary at Penflex, Inc.
