Organization Studies track (Research Master in Social and Behavioral Sciences)

Learn to understand complex relationships between and within organizational networks, as well as the relationships of organizations with their institutional environment. You will become proficient at applying methodological approaches and statistical tools (such as network analysis) during critical, data-driven projects. Program and courses

Become a research and data specialist in the field of organization studies while studying individual behaviors in different social contexts from three social sciences perspectives: Social Psychology, Sociology, and Organization Studies.

  • This Research Master is unique in the Netherlands
  • By choosing this track, you personalize your educational experience. You will choose your own supervisors and research topics as well as your traineeships based on your interests and learning goals.
  • You will join a small-scale, interactive classroom of around 30 ambitious and international students. You will get thorough, methodological, and statistical education from renowned national and international academics, preparing you for jobs in science, or research-intensive jobs outside academia.
  • Apply your knowledge and skills by participating in four in-house research traineeships and one international research traineeship.

You will become an all-round researcher who thinks outside the box, specialized in organization studies. As an organizational analyst, you are able to understand problems faced by organizations and help companies and governments respond to fast-changing environments. As a graduate, you have expertise in how organizations are structured and developed, which is vital in an ever-changing society.  Students that follow the track Organization Studies find jobs inside and outside academia that require proficiency in data analysis (e.g., a data analyst at a private organization).

The Research Master in Social and Behavioral Sciences does not offer a pre-Master’s program. However, in case you successfully complete one of the pre-Master’s programs of the Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (e.g., the pre-Master's program in SociologyOrganization and Management Studies, or Human Resource Studies) you become eligible for admission to the Research Master in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Please note that the other admission requirements and application procedure still apply.
