Location
Aveiro, Portugal
The objectives of the Nanosciences and Nanotechnology programme are from Universidade de Aveiro are:
- Consolidation of general knowledge in N&N but with an emphasis in the scientific field in which the student intends to develop the studies.
- Acquisition of knowledge and skills (extended to the frontiers of knowledge) in the areas of N&N in which the student intends to develop the studies of third cycle, including a variety of experimental techniques and advanced mathematical techniques and/or computational applicable to current research in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering.
- To build the capacity to manage scientific issues of complex nature, to establish new approaches and to operate, autonomously and in different contexts, advanced experimental techniques learned earlier.
- Development of the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts and conclusions drawn from experimental practice, in a concise, precise and clear way, to different audiences and using the adequate materials.
- Developing the ability to search and collect in the scientific literature, independently and autonomously, technical information relevant to his/her research or thesis work.
- To strength the skills for both autonomous and team work, using interdisciplinary analysis and discussion of the consequences of socioeconomic, cultural and ethical issues associated to new developments in the area of N&N, and integrating the main outputs in the scientific work.
