Following the pandemic, we have found that some courses benefit from a blended learning and teaching approach. Therefore, the majority of your teaching will be face-to-face on campus aside from a small amount of online teaching where we have learnt it works best.

Denis Pressler
Senior Lecturer, Course Leader, BSc Sport Business Management
School of Health, Social Work and Sport

Denis teaches across the BSc Sport Business Management undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a focus on finance and service operations. He also developed the BSc Football Studies programme and helped foster the partnership with the Macclesfield Football club.

Our School has strong links with a large number of sports organisations, including professional sports teams and public and private sector sports providers.

We regularly invite guest speakers from industry to speak on this course. This is a valuable opportunity for you to meet potential employers and learn about life in the sport industry.

Guest lectures have been given by representatives of The Premier League, The Football League, Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club, Bolton Wanderers Football Club, St Helens Rugby League Club, David Lloyd Leisure and Preston City Council.

The course team are currently working with the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity as part of their consultation on accreditation of HE courses.

Future careers

Our Sport Business Management programme will prepare you for a career in the industry within a private, commercial, public or voluntary sector in a range of management and academic roles.
