Description


The Master course on Environmental Management is oriented to problems' solution in process industries, as well as the acquisition of abilities, tools and softskills in clean technologies and source pollution control. Its
fundamental goals are:
-To provide knowledge on green engineering and clean technologies in process engineering, and on pollution
control technologies, waste recovery and disposal
-To stimulate the use of tools of integrated pollution prevention and control, such as cleaner production technologies, life cycle assessment, eco-design and eco-efficiency
-To qualify for the implementation and auditing of environmental management systems, and integrated management systems
-To develop research competences in clean technologies and pollution prevention
-To provide information on the legal framework applicable to environmental issues
-To inform about business opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship practices related with environmental issues

This Master degree provides basic training to carry out a course of 3rd cycle (PhD) in the same scientific area, or other areas

Entry requirements


Degree in Biological, Chemical, Environment, Material, Mechanics, Polymers, Civil, Textile Engineering Sciences, in Applied Biology, in Chemical, or other similar areas or those with degrees legally equivalent.
In all situations, it is required that applicants have 60 ECTS in the scientific areas of Natural Sciences and Environment and/or of Basic Sciences and Engineering.

Graduates that meet one of the requirements of the points b) to d) of paragraph 1 of the article of the Decree-Law 74/2006 of 24 March will be also admitted.

Exceptionally, if any of these requirements are not met, the student may be accepted by the Scientific Council on the basis of his/her curriculum vitae.
