The main goal of the Undergraduate Degree Course in Applied Biology is to prepare professionals with a solid knowledge in the Life Sciences, using interactive teaching/learning methods with a strong component on experimental techniques and practices. Graduates will be qualified in multiple areas of Biology and gain knowledge ranging from the molecular and cell biology, organisms, populations and communities.
At the end of this first cycle degree, the acquired theoretical and practical competences will be useful for several professional activities, related with the health, environment, industry and agriculture sectors. Graduates will have basic and multidisciplinary knowledge that provide access to a wide range of second cycle courses where they can obtain specific and advanced knowledge on subjects of their preference, as an appropriate complement of their initial training.
