The objective of the English-language Functional Materials master's program is a research-oriented education in the field of modern functional materials, which are becoming increasingly important in the engineered world. The key to the further development of these materials lies in a detailed understanding of their quantum physical functional principles, their selective manufacturing and the characterization of their properties. You will gain this understanding in a two-year master's program comprising research-oriented basic, advanced and final modules.
Major topics
The program focuses on the working mechanisms of modern functional materials and provides an education with respect to their manufacturing, processing and characterization.
Objectives
The program qualifies you for work both in basic research in public and private research institutions as well as in applied research and development in industry, in the fields of nanotechnology, chemistry, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Furthermore, the program fulfills the admission requirements for a later doctorate.
Admission requirements
Required university degree Certification of a degree from a subject-relevant bachelor's program in science or engineering, or certification of a comparable domestic or foreign qualifying university diploma.
The examination board can make admission contingent on additional academic performances and/or examination performances of 30 CP at maximum being produced.
