Overview

Healthy, thriving communities are the focus of the Public Health master's degree program at The University of Toledo.  

The breadth of options is a hallmark of our graduate program in Public Health. We offer five majors and a multitude of ways to combine your M.P.H. degree with another graduate degree or certificate. 

Graduate students in our M.P.H. program can choose from the majors below. These areas are where the jobs are today. 

Public Health master's candidates learn both theory and practice. They: 

  • Design, implement and analyze public health programs and projects 
  • Receive hands-on experience with a variety of populations in local communities 

M.P.H. students often continue their educations at UToledo's medical school, Physician Assistant program or Ph.D. program in Health Education. Students also enroll in programs at other universities throughout the U.S. and around the world.

    Students also can combine an M.P.H. degree with another UToledo graduate degree of their choosing, or can dual major by combining two M.P.H. majors. 

M.P.H. faculty have a variety of real-world public health experiences and are active in community and national public health organizations and projects. A number of faculty members conduct grant-funded research in which students can participate.

Internship Opportunities For Public Health Master's Degree

All M.P.H. students are required to complete an internship. All internships require completion of a minimum of 300 hours. Internships may be completed in one semester or during three semesters.
