Admission Requirements
(a) a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and either:
(b) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent;
or
(c) at least two years professional experience in a relevant occupation; or
(2) significant work experience including at least 5 years with a material level of responsibility.

Course details
The rise and fall of economies, future employment prospects, incomes and living standards are all at the heart of economics. Economics is at the forefront of controversial public policy issues such as economic growth and the stability of the entire economy, regulating financial institutions, monetary and fiscal policies, dealing with the Australian economy, resource taxation, financing education, immigration, health insurance markets and retirement income planning.

About the course
Gain specialised knowledge and skills in economics and apply your learnings to a variety of economic problems, such as analysing and critically evaluating economic policies and market operations. You'll also learn to provide solutions to complex problems, communicate clearly, effectively, and appropriately in relation to complex problems and issues in economics to a variety of audiences.

Dr Andrew Williams, Director of Education
Dr Andrew Williams is currently the Director of Education at the UWA Business School, and a Senior Lecturer in Economics. He has been the recipient of a number of teaching and research awards, inlcuing Best Lecturer (2008 and 2013), the UWA Best Published Article by an Early Career Researcher (2011), and the UWA Established Researcher Price (2010). His research focuses on the links between the transparency of public institutions and economic outcomes, the economic consequences of corruption, as well as education economics.
