Educational Leadership Cooperative Program

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of Wisconsin-Madison have combined resources to provide a distinctive Educational Leadership Co-op program that offers courses leading to certification as a K-12 Principal, Director of Instruction or Director of Special Education/Pupil Services. This is a 30 credit Master’s program that can be entirely taken on the Whitewater campus taught by Whitewater faculty or visiting Madison faculty. Courses focus on current educational leadership research as well as practical applications. At least two graduate classes are offered each semester at a convenient evening time for busy professionals. Some classes are also offered in the summer as fully on-line or blended models. Final certification and the Master’s degree come through UW-Madison. According to US News and World Report, the UW Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA) program is currently rated the #2 leadership program in the US.

Why UW-Whitewater?

Whitewater is well-located for students in southeastern Wisconsin, as the campus is easy to get to and evening parking is convenient. The program is flexible and can be taken at your own pace. Whitewater's tuition is substantially cheaper than Madison’s. This cooperative program can provide a graduate foundation for academic activities leading toward a PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Instructors from both campuses are eager to share their expertise and encourage your development as an educational leader.
